About

I am a freelance writer and journalist based in New York City. I am working on a memoir about my father. Until 2010 I was a staff writer for The Wall Street Journal, where I wrote about people who own big houses, then about families that own big buildings. I have written articles for The New York Times and Uptown Magazine. I got my professional start at The Stamford Advocate as a night cop reporter. I got my start as a writer here.

I also spent six weeks reporting in Africa.

I like to travel and cook and take pictures. You can find my personal blog here.

For those of you who like more personal information, I live in Brooklyn with my husband, Dan, our BRAND-NEW BABY(!) and our five-year-old mountain dog mix. But we are moving to Manhattan soon.

I support cultural institutions and various arts organizations, as well as charities that help the less fortunate in Haiti and in Harlem.
